Miles Being Miles

On Saturday I was setting up to do a quick portrait session of a friend’s son.  As I do from time to time I asked Miles if he would come stand under the lights so I could test my exposure settings, adjust the soft boxes and other minor tweaks before the customer arrived.  Miles didn’t fuss at all this time around, but just struck this pose and waited patiently for me to make my adjustments.

This picture says a lot to me.  Miles is almost 9 years old now- something that I almost can not comprehend.  Also, he has developed his own very strong personality.  While that conflicts with me occasionally, mostly I celebrate the smart, funny, talented young man that he is becoming.

I love you, Miles.  I love who you are becoming.
